TFA Dostmann has been honoured for outstanding design: The designer wall clock CLOCK IN THE BOX has won the renowned “Red Dot Award: Product Design”.
The prize is awarded annually to the best product designs that are both aesthetically and functionally compelling.
The jury praised the wall clock with the words: “With its fan-like clock face, the CLOCK IN THE BOX wall clock has a unique design and is highly decorative. It is available in four different colourways, each of which is extraordinarily vivid.”

CLOCK IN THE BOX: Timeless and efficient
The CLOCK IN THE BOX wall clock was designed by Andreas Brückner. His signature is unmistakable because he ensures that TFA Dostmann’s products are timeless and outlast future design trends. He worked closely with Axel Dostmann, the managing director of TFA Dostmann, on its development.
The challenge was to design a large-size clock in such a way that it could be packaged as compactly as possible to minimise the ecological footprint of transportation. He has succeeded: The packaging of the XL wall clock is remarkably small, hence the name “CLOCK IN THE BOX”. Its compact packaging contains the clockwork and its 12 dial pieces. A QR code in the operating instructions leads you to a video tutorial that explains its easy assembly.

Andreas Brückner has been helping to shape TFA Dostmann’s product portfolio for over 25 years. Due to his progressive MS disease, he has had to adapt his working methods several times and now controls his graphics programs solely by head movements.
The design of the CLOCK IN THE BOX wall clock was also created using this innovative method. The manufacturer provides information about this inside the product packaging and wants to encourage people with disabilities to embrace new things and achieve the seemingly impossible.
TFA Dostmann goes one step further: To support MS research and funding, this medium-sized, family-owned company donates €1 to the German Multiple Sclerosis Society in Baden-Württemberg for each CLOCK IN THE BOX sold.
