This set from the TFA.me series consists of a gateway ID-01 and a wireless rain sensor ID-A1 and is used for rainfall monitoring on the TFA.me portal.

The gateway also provides access to the TFA.me system and can be combined with numerous transmitters to measure and record additional local weather and climate data.

A rain sensor allows you to see exactly how much rain has fallen. Especially in summer, your plants need sufficient watering and you can check whether additional watering is necessary. In addition, rainfall amounts can be recorded and compared over time.

The measuring container is placed horizontally outdoors, ideally in about 60 to 90 cm in height, and it catches the rain. The WiFi gateway receives the measurement data from the rain sensor and forwards it to the browser-based TFA.me portal, where it can be accessed flexibly on your smartphone, tablet or PC.

Simply create an account, add the gateway and rain sensor using your individual ID number and then view all linked devices at a glance. With a single click, you can access a detailed view of the precipitation amounts with cumulative values and a trend chart for different time periods: one day, one week, one month or one year. In addition, you can set up e-mail alerts to be sent (when individually set precipitation amounts are exceeded or not reached for a specific period or when rain begins) and export the measured values as a chart or table.

The handy gateway cube is the cornerstone of the TFA.me system. It acts as a receiver: The TFA.me Wi-Fi gateway receives and forwards up to 50 TFA-ID wireless transmitters for various measured variables. Consequently, the values determined can be accessed online worldwide. Requirements are a WiFi and Internet connection for the gateway. In addition, the transmitters must be within the reception range of max. 100 metres.

Thanks to its own display and internal sensors, the gateway also acts as a digital thermo-hygrometer for the indoor climate at your installation site. Five channels also enable you to manually select or automatically change the screen display of up to five wireless thermo-hygro transmitters, which you could use to expand the system. Moreover, it displays the current time and the full date or day of the week in six languages.

A mains adapter (included) powers the gateway. Alternatively, three standard AAA batteries can be used as a backup, for example in the event of a power failure or if you move the device. The rain sensor works with two AA batteries (batteries not included).
