Do I have a guarantee for my TFA product?

If your product is accompanied by a warranty, TFA Dostmann GmbH & Co. KG, Zum Ottersberg 12, 97877 Wertheim, Germany, Tel. + 49-9342-3080, Fax + 49-9342-30849, will provide to the original purchaser of the product a manufacturer’s guarantee (warranty) for the specified warranty period from the date of purchase.

If the device does not function properly during the warranty period, despite the measures listed below, we will either, repair or replace the faulty item at our discretion and at our own expense.

What is excluded from the warranty?

The warranty is related to manufacturing defects in material and workmanship only, and does not cover damage caused by extreme temperatures, vibrations or shocks, liquids, incorrect handling, accidental damageunauthorized repairs, thermal or battery induced corrosion and damage caused by wear-and-tear. The warranty does not give rise to any claims for damages against TFA Dostmann GmbH & Co. KG.

Does the warranty affect my rights?

Our manufacturer’s warranty does not affect your statutory rights. If the device is defective, you are entitled to the statutory rights in addition to the warranty against the dealer/retailer from whom you purchased the device from, regardless of whether the warranty claim occurs or not.

How can I claim the manufacturer’s warranty from TFA?

To make a claim under our manufacturer’s warranty you should send the following:

  • The device
  • A copy of the proof of purchase (e.g. a receipt)
  • A brief description of the defect.

These should be sent on a package with sufficiently paid postage directly to our returns department at the address below.

Nota bene The timely dispatch of the package is sufficient to ensure the warranty period, i.e. the postage is done before the warranty expires. The shipping costs and the responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged package occurring during shipment shall not be borne by TFA Dostmann. We will send you back the repaired or replaced device at our own expense.

What to do before making a claim

Please be sure to follow the advices as detailed below:

Did you follow the instructions in the manual correctly? If you misplaced or lost your instruction manual, you can download or print a copy directly from downloads.

Make sure that all devices use correct and sufficiently charged batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries!

What should I note for products with radio-controlled signal?

In the case of loss of the radio signal, restart the transmitter and receiver by removing the batteries of both devices, then replacing them after a brief period, (or as described in your instruction manual). During setup, both devices should stand side by side at a distance of approx. 1 meter from each other. After reception, observe the devices next to each other for some time to ensure a permanent radio contact.

If the radio signal is lost again at the place of installation, choose another location for the transmitter and / or receiver. To improve the radio contact, avoid possible interference sources such as other electronic equipment with radio transmission, electromagnetic interference, metal parts, etc.

Nota bene: The specified maximum range is based on open field conditions and can be significantly reduced by obstacles such as reinforced concrete, masonry, windows, etc., other sources of interference and weak batteries.
